Special Projects

Work inside what
already exists.

Meier delivers structural modifications, retrofit work and focused commercial concrete packages where coordination, access and sequencing are as important as the concrete itself.

Built for complex conditions

Not smaller work.
More focused work.

Special Projects extends Meier’s structural concrete discipline into existing buildings and commercial environments. We pursue meaningful packages where planning the interfaces, protecting what remains and delivering the finished condition require experienced project and field leadership.

What we do

Selective scope.
Complete accountability.

01

Modify the structure

Retrofits and structural modifications coordinated to verified existing conditions and the engineer’s requirements.

  • Foundation enlargement
  • Column + wall upsizing
  • New structural slabs
  • Elevator pits + openings
  • Drill-and-epoxy reinforcing
  • Embed + steel interfaces
02

Remove + rebuild

Selective demolition and concrete replacement sequenced around underground work, adjacent improvements and the required finished condition.

  • Sawcutting + demolition
  • Trenches + slab removal
  • Plumbing + electrical pour-back
  • Slab replacement
  • Elevation + tolerance control
03

Build the interior package

New commercial concrete scopes for cold shells, tenant improvements and substantial interior renovations.

  • Full cold-shell slabs
  • Retail + restaurant buildouts
  • Interior slabs + modifications
  • Equipment foundations
  • Pads within larger packages
04

Work around operations

Focused execution within occupied, active or constrained environments where protection, access and phasing shape the work.

  • Existing-space protection
  • Containment planning
  • Phased work windows
  • Pedestrian interfaces
  • Adjacent-trade coordination
Existing structure+New demand

Strengthen it.
Reconfigure it.
Make it work.

Retrofit work may introduce loads, layouts and uses the original structure was not designed to carry. Meier executes the concrete modifications needed to support that change—from foundation enlargement and column or wall upsizing to new structural slabs, elevator pits, shaft openings and connections back into the existing structure.

One operating sequence

Protect what stays.
Rebuild what changes.

  1. 01
    Understand

Verify existing conditions, access, interfaces and the required finished result.

  2. 02
    Protect

Plan containment, logistics and work limits around occupants, operations and adjacent improvements.

  3. 03
    Execute

Coordinate demolition, reinforcing, inspections and concrete placement through the approved sequence.

  4. 04
    Turn over

Complete corrective work, document closeout and return the area ready for the next operation.
